I think it's not so much Kuyt has been playing really good...but moreso Van Nistleroy has been playing himself out of the lineup. His fitness has not been good and his play has steadily declined. Even his world cup play has hardly been inspiring. I think with his age, there really isn't much room for improvement and I guess Van Basten just feels that he's over the hill.

I watched the first game that Kuyt played for Liverpool. I do believe he is able to make some impact for the team in this season.
